MIT Change-Maker Awards

MIT recognizes outstanding students, faculty, and staff for their work to combat sexual misconduct at the annual Change-Maker Awards, started in April 2017. Because much of this work is understated, the Awards are meant to highlight those who affect positive change in our community. Any student, staff, or faculty member can be nominated for this award!

In Spring 2020 and Spring 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we did not host virtual or in-person celebrations for Change-Makers in the MIT Community. We were still able to recognize and send awards to undergraduate students who worked diligently and intentionally to continue the work of healthy and positive culture change in pandemic times!

  • Spring 2020: Claire Halloran, Undergraduate Change-Maker of the Year and Omar Laris, Pleasure Educator of the Year
  • Spring 2021: Rachel McIntosh, Pleasure Educator of the Year

We hope to be able to resume our regular celebration in-person in Spring 2022.
